Pentecost 2023

Thy Kingdom Come

Thy Kingdom Come (TKC) is a global ecumenical prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray from Ascension to Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus.

Since it began in May 2016, God has grown TKC from a dream of possibility into a movement which unites more than a million Christians in prayer, in nearly 90% of countries worldwide, across 85 different denominations and traditions- so that friends and family, neighbours and colleagues might come to faith in Jesus Christ.

Every person, household and church are encouraged to pray during the 11 days in their own way. There are various resources available for all ages, including Prayer Journal and daily prayers all made available via this website: https://www.thykingdomcome.global/

Colchester Road Baptist Church is delighted to join with this global movement of prayer with several different events and services between Ascension and Pentecost.

On Saturday 20th May we will host a Prayer Breakfast at the Royal George Pub at 9:30am. Using materials and resources produced by TKC to inspire our creative prayer.

The breakfast is very much intended for everyone who would like to join, including adults and children alike with bookings to be made online:

On Sunday 21st May we will continue to engage with this global movement of prayer with a Praise Evening. This will be a time of praise, testimony and ministry but also making use of TKC resources and creating space to pray specifically for others to know Jesus.

And then on Sunday 28th May we will begin our Park Tour with a Pentecost Picnic at the Dumbarton Recreation Ground from (roughly) 12:30pm. Everyone is invited and asked to bring their own picnic food and drink as well as a balloon or two as we celebrate Pentecost together in a local park.

Whether you have been part of ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ before or not, we invite you to join with us and we look forward to how God will use this time to renew the nations and transform communities.
