Wavemakers Children’s Ministry
Whatever age, we believe that the kingdom of God belongs to children. The life, energy and joy they bring makes waves in our church family and they remind us how to simply love God and trust in him.
‘Wavemakers’ is the name for our children’s ministry. We aim that ‘Children will know, grow in and show God’s love’.
On Sunday we have four different groups for children aged 0-11.
Minnows (a Crèche for 0-3 year olds), Paddlers (for 3-5 year olds), Rafters (for children aged 5-7) and Navigators (for children aged 7-11).
We also run a monthly event called The Stream, when children aged 3-11 meet together on Sunday morning instead of going to their separate groups. Our young people help to lead the event, so it’s one generation helping another as we grow together in faith. We have a community of children journeying with Jesus in praise, prayer, stories and drama, crafts, games and puppet shows.
Wednesday 9:45 – 11:15am
Mums, Dads, Carers or Grandparents are all welcome to bring the little ones for our weekly Toddler Session
A great way to meet other parents and carers while the children get to play with others their age.
(Free tea and snacks too!)
Lots of space to play or join in with crafts, stories and the song time at the end.
Watershed (Midweek Fun)
Tuesdays 6:00 – 7:15 pm.
All our midweek groups for young people at CRBC happen on the same night to create a sense of continuity between all age groups.
Children in School Years 3-6 are welcome and we build friendships together through lots of active games, puzzles and problem solving and themed nights. There are outdoor trips and activities in the summer. We’re keen to understand Bible stories and dig out God’s truth for our lives, with plenty of time for asking questions and a little bit of a breather during the refreshments break.
Families are welcome to join us from 4-6pm for our bi-monthly gathering. There are crafts and construction activities (edible and non-edible) relating to different themes or characters from the Bible.
Highlights are always the face painting and a minute-to-win-it challenge. A fantastic dinner is served after the crafts for all to enjoy.
All children and their families are welcome.
We take assemblies in Rushmere Hall, Sidegate and St. John’s Primary Schools and help in classrooms with RE lessons.
We’ll keep you posted for our next exciting Holiday Club adventure in February half-term week in 2018.
The last two years we’ve transported the children to the icy Arctic and into outer space!
Holiday Club is for children aged 4-11 (school years R-6) from 10.00am to 12.30pm, Tuesday to Friday. We have a Parents’ Café every day and a Family Fun Evening on the Friday night.
Run by our excellent team and headed up by our Children’s and Families worker Ben Wale, we’re looking forward to another fantastic week of games, songs, craft, prayer and Bible stories.
